Profile	Located at the west of libourne, château de la rivière is an historical and magical place.

Description

On the remains of a fortified tower built by Charlemagne, this château was constructed in 1577 by Gaston De l’Isle. Transformed during the Renaissance, it was also restored by Viollet-le-Duc. It dominates the Dordogne valley and the 60 hectares of the biggest wine estate of Fronsac.
More than 900 barrels and 600.000 bottles are laid on 3.5 hectares of underground galleries. Visitors can discover part of it without forgetting the chapel and the ladies’ Bath which are worth seeing.
Each room has its private bathroom (shower or bath, toilets, hair-dyer, towel-dryer, bathrobes and towels provided), phone and television. Guests can leave their car on our private car park.
Our guests can have breakfast in the former kitchen of the chateau or on the terrace overhanging the vineyards.
They can relax in the tisanerie is (refreshing drinks available) or near our south-exposed swimming-pool.
