Description

Le Vieux Chêne situated in the tiny "La Tuilière" hamlet is a 200 year-old stone charentaise house. Originally 3 or 4 cottages, it has been tastefully renovated and converted into one house. This characterful building retains many original features. The house is located in a small hamlet not far from the historic town of Angouleme in the Charente. Whether you are simply looking for a stop-over on your way to the south of France or Spain, or indeed a leisurely relaxing break, the facilities here will cater to your needs.
Located 15 minutes from the pretty town of Confolens on the lovely river Vienne, the coast is only about a 2 hour drive away with La Rochelle and Royan providing a good day out. The Dordogne is also easily accessible for a day's outing. A 4 course evening meal is available by arrangement. Meals are home cooked with fresh ingredients and vegetables from our garden in season.
