Description

The Ourcq Valley is ideal for walking and cycling. You'll come across typical villages of the "Soissonnais" (close to Soissons) with their "sparrow step" gables. This is a richly historic as well as beautiful area: the many chateaux and old abbeys testify to this, as too the museums dedicated to famous local writers such as Racine, Dumas and La Fontaine. You are also ideally placed here to explore the vineyards of Champagne, Disneyland and even Paris. The stone-built property, built in 1810, sits in landscaped gardens which guests are welcome to use. The two guestrooms, which share a large bathroom with WC, have their own entrance and are let as a single unit for four. One room has a double bed, the other twin beds; there is a trouser press and electric kettle and TV (French). The Stauders: "table d'hÃ´tes" includes regional specialities. They also do picnic lunches (9 euros pp).
