Description

The Basque name of the house, ‘Errecaldia,’ means ‘river view’, but unfortunately since it’s construction in 1673 events have overtaken names. The views from the terrace across the valley, the town of St Jean Pied de Port and to the Irouleguy vineyards on the hill of Arradoy are stunning, but the river itself is now obscured by various buildings. The house is situated on the Chemin St Jacques, and the historic pilgrim routes from Northern Europe to the Spanish Cathedral city of Santiago de Compostella all meet here.
Two en-suite bedrooms each with their own bath rooms. In a traditional Basque house built in 1673, lovingly restored but with modern facilities
One room features a bathroom with corner jacuzzi. The other a delightful balcony which catches the afternoon and evening sun.
A generous breakfast is provided from 07.30 until 10.30 and can be served either in the dining room or
