La Bastille. Port de l’Arsenal. Your fully equipped and private Room in a cosy 120m2 Apt. 480/Week
The Place de la Bastille is located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris in the Marais area.
In the centre of the roundabout is the famous Colonne de Juillet (July Column) which is topped by a statue known as the Spirit of Liberty. Concerts and markets are a regular feature at the Place de la Bastille. The site has many cafés, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs and is therefore very busy, particularly on Saturday and Sunday. The Place de la Bastille is often on the route of social, political or union demonstration marches.
Since 1998, every Sunday afternoon at 14.30, a large number of rollerbladers leave from here for a 20km skate along a pre-determined protected route through Paris.
