Frequently asked questions

Where is the page with my B&B (1)?

There are three possible reasons why you cannot find the page with your B&B. After entering or changing some data you did not click on the link to update the list with B&B. To correct that go to the map of France, click on your departement and click at the end of the resulting list on the link to update that page.

Where is the page with my B&B (2)?

There are three possible reasons why you cannot find the page with your B&B. You entered the wrong postal code. Beacuase of that your B&B appears on the list of another departement. Check this by accessing the page with your data which shows you the postal code. To correct this error delete your registration and add a new one with the correct postal code.

Where is the page with my B&B (3)?

There are three possible reasons why you cannot find the page with your B&B. You did register a hotel, a caravan, a boat or some other data which were not appropriate. In that case your registration was deleted or blocked by us without any notice.

Where is the link to my site (1)?

There are two possible reasons why the link to your site does not appear on the page of your B&B. After entering or changing some data you did not click on the link to update the page with your B&B. To correct that go to your page and click at the bottom of that page on the link to update that page.

Where is the link to my site (2)?

There are two possible reasons why the link to your site does not appear on the page of your B&B. The link to our site must appear on the page you entered. So if you put the link on http://www.mysite.co.uk/links.htm you must enter that page. If you entered http://www.mysite.co.uk your link will not appear because on that page the link to our site cannot be found.

How can I put a link to your site?

Add a link with the text 'www.bed-and-breakfast.la-france.org' and the url 'bed-and-breakfast.la-france.org'. The technical way to accomplish this depends on the system/software you are using.

Can you upload my pictures?

No we cannot upload your pictures. We do not have acces to your site. Only you or your webmaster can upload pictures.

How can I upload my pictures?

That depends on your provider and your configuration. We cannot help you with this question.

Can you download my pictures?

No we cannot download your pictures; our system is not designed to stock your pictures.

Can I send you my pictures?

No you cannot send us your pictures; our system is not designed to stock your pictures.

How can I change the postal code?

You cannot change the postal code. If you entered a wrong postal code you have to delete your existing registration and enter a new one.

How can I change my e-mail address?

You cannot change your e-mail address. If you entered a wrong e-mail address you have to delete your existing registration and enter a new one.

How can you work without making a charge?

By not charging any fee we expect to become the site with the largest number of locations. Furthermore our design will result in top positions with the major search engines. Together with the sites in France, The Netherlands and Germany this will result in a very large number of page views and consequently probably enough income from advertising.

Conditions

Owners

Every owner in France with a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) can register on this site. Every new entry is reviewed by us and if we think the registration is not appropriate, we will refuse the registration. This will happen for instance in the case where the Bed and Breakfast is an hotel, a gîte, a caravan, a mobile home or if the Bed and Breakfast is not located in France ('Metropolitaine').

Periodic update

We want to have a database with updated information. Because of that we ask you to review your data at least once a year by calling your page, reviewing the data and clicking on the button labelled 'OK'. If you forget this small duty the status of your registration will automatically be switched to 'inactive'. That means that your location will not show up any more on this site. However you can re-activate your registration at any moment by accessing the page with your data and clicking on the button labelled 'OK'.
If you make use of the availability function you have to update your data on a regular basis. If not, we will close down that function for your location.

Linking back

Our goal is simple: Number 0ne with all major search engines for the important keywords. Key factor is the number of sites which are linking to our site. Because of that we ask you to link back if you also want to have the description of your Bed and Breakfast accompanied by a link to your website. If not, you can skip the entry of your website and use the other contact information (fax/telephone/e-mail address).
